CATC analyzer based on portable form factor

Computer Access Technology Corp. (CATC) has announced the first shipments of its Merlin II expert Bluetooth protocol analyzer that is compliant with v1.2 of the Bluetooth specification and is based on a highly portable form factor.

The Merlin II enables designers to quickly identify and correct design issues as well as assist manufacturers to pre-screen devices for standard compliance and interoperability. It addresses the changing needs of the Bluetooth design and manufacturing communities, supporting the capture, decode and analysis of the Bluetooth specification v1.2.

Featuring a small size, the analyzer can be used in tight workspaces. It utilizes the company's CATC Trace expert analysis software to process, decode and analyze captured Bluetooth traffic. The CATC Trace embeds an understanding of the Bluetooth protocol hierarchy and intricacies and presents this information to the user in a an easy to use graphical display, allowing customers to quickly discover and correct persistent and intermittent errors and flaws in product designs.
