Thomson deploys Broadcom-based ADSL CPE

Broadcom Corp., a provider of silicon solutions enabling broadband communications, announced that Thomson, a provider of ADSL customer premises equipment (CPE), is shipping a new SpeedTouch ADSL modem, the SpeedTouch 511e, based on Broadcom's family of single-chip ADSL CPE devices. The SpeedTouch 511e is specifically designed for the large and fast growing DSL market in China.

Thomson sees a strong growth opportunity in China for its DSL modem business. The new SpeedTouch 511e was specifically designed to meet the needs of the fast growing ADSL modem market of China.
