Silicon Labs enables handset designers in China

Silicon Laboratories Inc., a manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal ICs, have announced a new wireless application center for GSM/GPRS handset design in Shanghai, China. The new application center will help handset makers in China design GSM/GPRS products and will complement the use of ODM, modules and reference designs.

The Silicon Laboratories wireless application center provides customers with additional handset design capability, including design practices, quick resolution of design issues and the ability to augment existing development resources and processes.

"Our goal is to provide solutions that simplify the handset design," said Dan Artusi, president and CEO of Silicon Laboratories. "This new application center takes our commitment to our customers a step further by enabling handset designers to leverage Silicon Laboratories' resources to advance their cellular design goals."
