Zhejiang University, State Key Lab of Silicon Material has developed its first 12-inch nitrogen doped silicon monocrystalline. According to the company, it has already applied for three national intellectual patents for this development.

According to Prof. Yang Deren, the silicon material used is doped with nitrogen to prevent a certain "micro-defect" in silicon monocrystalline. Upgrades on computers, communications and networks using silicon monocrystalline in larger diameters have shown no defects. In addition, the project was listed in the National 863 Plan in China.
