Canon Precision Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon Inc. and a developer of dc micromotors and ultrasonic motors, has been merged with Hirosaki Seiki Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon Precision Inc. last January 1 this year. Hirosaki Seiki manufactures motors developed by Canon Precision as well as toner cartridges and clear-mold packages for sensors.

On the other hand, Canon N.T.C. Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon Inc., will spin off its environmental business operations into a newly established company. Following the separation, Canon N.T.C. will focus its energies on its semiconductor equipment-related business and will receive a new company name. Meanwhile, the new company, named Canon Ecology Ind. Inc., will concentrate on the recycling of Canon office equipment and consumables.
