Expanding its portfolio of advanced components for high-speed data and telecommunication applications, ON Semiconductor has introduced the NBLVEP16VR amplifier that features both an oscillator gain stage and enabled high gain outputs.

Delivering operating frequencies above 2.5GHz, the device is suitable for timing module applications in high-speed telecommunications, networking and automated test equipment. It operates as the active device in a timing module with three fundamental tasks. First, the device provides amplification of the differential feedback loop with selectable 4mA or 8mA self bias current sources. It also offers simultaneous amplification of the primary output with an available 10mA current source or traditional LVPECL. Finally, the NBLVEP16VR functions as a buffer to isolate the oscillator circuit from the rest of the application.

Employing the company's ultra precise bipolar process to offer output rise/fall times and propagation delay at a maximum of 300ps, the product has a jitter of below 0.5ps and duty cycle skew of 5ps.

The NBLVEP16VR is packaged in a 3-by-3mm QFN-16 Quad Flat No-lead package and is priced at $2.85 each in 10,000-unit quantities. It is also available in wafer and bare die.
