Zoran Corp. has announced its seventh generation of Vaddis 7, an advanced DVD multimedia processor SoC solution that integrates a servo front-end, MPEG-4, DivX and DVD-Audio.

Vaddis 7 offers manufacturers the flexibility to build and differentiate multiple models based on the same core design. When used in conjunction with the company's MaestroLink technology, the product becomes the core processor for a networked DVD player.

With its integrated S/PDIF receiver, it is suitable for powering DVD-receivers that decode Dolby Digital content from an external source. DivX content is decoded and displayed at 720 x 480 resolution at 30fps.

The Vaddis 7 delivers MPEG-4, DivX, advanced simple profile (ASP), and DVD-Audio decoding. It enables playback of audio and video content from Flash memory cards with its direct interface to Memory Stick, Secure Digital, Compact Flash, Smart Media and XD. Designed for OEMs to easily migrate from Vaddis 6 DVD solutions for quick time to market, the Vaddis 7 targets DVD players, combos (DVD+VCR, DVD+TV, DVD-Receivers) and portable DVD players.
