Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC) has implemented a 3 million SoC using Magma Design Automation Inc.'s Blast Create, an RTL-to-placed-gates system.
Having validated that Blast Create can provide very good timing correlation from synthesis to physical implementation; Toshiba has designated Blast Create as a design environment for a RTL-to-netlist hand-off flow.
"We have used Blast Fusion for the past three years to take very complex custom SoCs into production. These have mostly been at theTC280 (0.13?m) technology level," said Shigenori Imazato, VP of Engineering for the TAEC Design Centers.
"By adopting Blast Create in addition to Blast Fusion, we have realized a consistent streamlined flow from RTL to GDS using a single library, a single constraint system and a set of common analysis engines. By using Magma's RTL-to-netlist flow, we can achieve better performance and faster turnaround time," Imazato added. |
