Capable of operating at a bus frequency up to 50MHz, the nonvolatile serial flash memory is suitable for code storage and user settings in cost-sensitive applications such as CD and DVD players, STBs, digital-TV and cameras, graphic cards, printers, PC motherboards and flat panel displays. The products typically run their operating code from fast Random Access Memory (RAM), after downloading the code from the low-cost Serial Flash Memory at power-up.
The M25P16 and M25P32 are available in an 8-lead MLP8 package that measures 6-by-5mm and 8-by-6mm, and in a 16-lead SO16 package that uses the company's ECOPACK Pb-free technology for RoHS-compliance. The devices are specified for the -40C to 85C industrial operating temperature range.
The company has also increased the frequency of the remainder of the family from 25MHz to 40MHz. |
