Micromark caps offer up to 25?F capacitance

Micromark C&CD has expanded its Wima FKP snubber capacitors for IGBT protection, and introduced a series of capacitors designed to attenuate voltage spikes on GTO thyristors.

Offered with an extended range of capacitor values from 0.047?F to 25?F, the products have voltages up to 4,000Vdc, 700Vac. The new additions share the key design features of existing Wima snubber capacitors, including a low inductance design, low loss polypropylene dielectric, high pulse load capability and high resistance to overvoltage conditions.

The MKP series of capacitors has been designed to attenuate voltage spikes on GTO thyristors, and features exceptional dc pulse handling capability. The devices are available with capacitance values from 1?F to 100?F, and support maximum voltages from 400Vdc to 1,400Vdc, depending on value.

Target applications include converter equipment in power generation and traction technology for train drives, hoists or crane drives.
