The ARINC Size 8 Quadrax contact from Tyco Electronics is a multi-signal contact system employing two differential pairs used with quad-axial cables for databus applications.

The product line consists of a four-contact connector in a size 8 shell with PCB-mount pins or crimp style pin and socket termination. It features a one-piece dielectric design that simplifies the termination process.

The contact uses four 24AWG, screw-machined contacts that can be crimped with standard tooling. A front release/front removable PCB-mount contact is available for ARINC 600 receptacle connectors, while a rear release/rear removal crimp contact is used in ARINC 600 plugs. The gold-plated, copper alloy contacts are inserted into a 2mm centerline, one-piece keyed dielectric to help with proper mating and alignment. A solder contact version is also available.

Designed to fit into a variety of aerospace and military connectors, including ARINC 600, ARINC 404, MIL-C-38999 and BACC65/EPX, the product can also be used in military networking and communications, as well as multi-gigabit applications like Gigabit Ethernet IEEE 802.3Z and Fiber Channel XT11.2.
