Kyocera introduces silver coating technology

The Lens Product Division of Kyocera Ind. Ceramics Corp. has introduced a patented silver coating technology to produce high-reflectance mirrors for a wide-range of advanced optical applications including LCDs and digital projectors.

The silver mirrors feature excellent durability, with reflectivity of more than 98 percent across the visible spectrum and into near infrared.

The company's adhesion technology allows silver to be coated unto virtually any substrate material, including glass, ceramic and even plastic. The coating can be applied to flat, curved, spherical or aspherical surfaces.
