NKK switch eyes consumer electronic equipment

The HP02/HP03 series of tactile switches from Nihon Kaiheiki Ind. Co. (NKK) is designed for use in office automation equipment, control panels, telecommunication appliances, electronic measurement, consumer electronic equipment and amusement devices.

Available with either silver-plated or gold-plated contacts, the switch features a contact resistance of 100 milliohms at 20mV and 10mA, insulation resistance of 100 megohms at 100Vdc, and dielectric strength of 250Vac for 1 min.

It has a 500,000-operation mechanical lifespan, 500,000-operation electrical lifespan, 1.6N nominal operating force, and 0.2mm±0.1mm total travel. Operating temperature range is between -20°C and 70°C.

Other product features include a crisp tactile feedback, high heat-resistant resin, and gull-winged or crimped terminals.
