Euroquartz rolls out oscillator for PDAs, GPSs

To meet the increasing demand for low current consumption clock oscillators, Euroquartz has developed its XO91 series of surface-mount oscillators with supply voltages of 1.8-, 2.5-, 3.3-, and 5V.

The device is designed for use in handheld, battery-powered communications equipment such as PDAs and GPSs. It consists of a TTL/CMOS compatible hybrid circuit and a miniature quartz crystal packaged in a low-profile ceramic package.

According to the company, the high quality design and materials used in the manufacture of the oscillator provide secure and reliable performance, while mass-production methods ensure the lowest cost.

It measures 7-by-5-by-1.4mm, and comes with a frequency range between 600kHz and 133MHz and frequency stability from ±10ppm to ±100ppm. The low voltage device is rated for operation between the commercial (0°C to 70°C) and industrial (-40°C to 85°C) temperature range.
