Nortel will brand and sell wireless IP phones made by SpectraLink Corp. under terms of a deal announced at the VoiceCon conference in Florida.

SpectraLink's NetLink phones will be sold as part of Nortel's enterprise voice-over-IP protocol suite, the companies said Tuesday (March 2, 2004).

The company has developed two handsets that operate at 802.11 Wi-Fi frequencies, the model 2210 for general enterprise, and the 2211 for health care, retail and industrial applications.

Both phones have been updated with support for Nortel's Unistim VoIP protocol.

SpectraLink also announced new NetLink docking stations, the s340 and s640, which extend VoIP handset capability through a large alphanumeric display and keypad, multiple feature access keys, and an integrated speaker phone.
