Data I/O Corp. has expanded its PS series of automated programmers with the release of the PS288FC device that is designed for medium volume/high mix applications.

Product manager for Automated Systems, Mark Briant, said, "Highly automated, supremely flexible, and compact in size, the PS288FC is designed to maximize the effectiveness of your programming environment."

Based on the company's PS300 family of modular automated programmers, the PS288FC is completely compatible with any PS system. It has the same user interface, programmers, consumables, algorithms and programming job files that are used throughout the PS programming family. These attributes enhance productivity and reduce the cost of switching.

The PS288FC is supported by FlashCORE, the same architecture used in Data I/O's FlashPAK, ProLINE-RoadRunner and PS300FC programming systems. Offering enhanced programming time performance, FlashCORE supports the highest density devices.

High Mix Programming

Medium volume high mix programming environments demand flexibility, particularly in terms of product changeover. According to the company, the PS288FC is optimized for this type of programming environment, with system reconfiguration times typically at <10 minutes for new jobs.

Capable of programming 16 sites simultaneously, the system supports a variety of packages and device types.
