Pioneer strengthens plasma display business

Pioneer Corp. has established the Plasma Display Business Co. on April 1, 2004 as a new internal divisional company and the reorganization of its Home Entertainment Co.

The plasma display business will be responsible for the operations relating to its plasma display (planning, engineering, and OEM sales), which were previously conducted by the Home Entertainment Co., in order to further strengthen and expand the plasma display business. Meanwhile, the Home Entertainment Co. will merge all operations of the Components Business Co. and reorganize its operations into the consumer A/V products and device solutions.

With these changes, Pioneer will focus on its core businesses through a total of four internal divisional companies: Home Entertainment Co., Plasma Display Business Co., Mobile Entertainment Co., and Industrial Solutions & Entertainment Co.
