Boser Technology has launched its HS-6252 embedded single board computer (SBC) featuring the new-generation VIA C3 CPU with clock rate of 800MHz, 133MHz FSB, PCI-ISA bus, and two DIMM sockets with a maximum capacity of 1GB.

Offering transfer rates of 33-, 66-, 100MBps, the device also features a VIAVT8601 (Northbridge) or VT82C686B (Southbridge) chipset, VIA VT8601 integrated Trident 3D supporting AGP bus, dual RealTek RTL8100 10/100 base-T LAN, AC'97 3D audio controller, and two IDE disk drives supporting ATA/33/66/100.

With the VIA C3 processor, the system can run at an ultra low power, low heat and low noise. Utilizing about 18W at 1.2GHz, the processor performs to its fullest in a cool manner and delivers low levels of energy consumption. It is suitable for powering a wide variety of low profile, small form factor PCs, and enables low noise system design implementations.

Another noted feature when using the VIA C3 CPU is its capacity to protect sensitive data and other information being transmitted over networks from being exposed. According to Boser, this is because the new VIA C3 processor adds advanced new on-die security features to the existing PadLock Security Suite on the Nehemiah core, including the PadLock Advanced Cryptography Engine (ACE) and two hardware based RNGs.

The VIA VT8601 and VT82C686B, coupled with the VIA C2 CPU, are guaranteed by the company to complement each other well.
