Coto Technology has introduced its RI-90 series of changeover dry reed switches that is designed for use in automatic test equipment, security, industrial and consumer applications.

With an initial contact resistance of 140 milliohms (max), the device is a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) type, having three contacts: a common contact, a normally-open contact and a normally-closed contact.

When brought in the proximity of a magnetic field, the common contact will first open with the normally-closed contact (NC), and then make contact with the normally-open (NO) contact as long as the magnetic field is applied.

According to Coto, the RI-90 series Ruthenium contact layers provide long-life switching at a wide variety of loads.

Additionally, the product's Form C contact configuration offers more options for reed switch sensors applications. The switch has a maximum switching current of 400mA and 125Vac or 175Vdc switching voltage, and 15mm (max.) glass length. The RI-90 Form C is priced at $1.34 each for 10,000 pieces.
