LG Electronics Inc. has designed Genesis Microchip Inc.'s gm5221 display controller and FLI2300 video format converter into its new 23-, 26-, and 30-inch LCD TV receivers. According to LG Electronics, models such as RM23LZ50 (23-inch), RM26LZ50 (26-inch), and RM30LZ50 (30-inch) include Genesis proprietary Adaptive Contrast Control (ACC), Active Color Management (ACM) technologies and DCDi by Faroudja video processing for optimum color and image clarity.

Scheduled to be available in the U.S. at the end of this month, the three LCD TV receiver models will feature the DCDi by Faroudja brand on their faceplates for easy consumer recognition.

Providing consumers with high-quality LCD TV receivers at multiple screen sizes positions LG Electronics to gain leadership in this market," said H.S. Kim, chief research engineer at DID Division Digital Display Multimedia Company, LG Electronics. "Having already selected Genesis for our 15-, 17-, and 20-inch LCD TV models, it was a logical decision to also design Genesis display controller technologies into these larger size LCD TV receivers," added Kim.
