ON Semi MOSFETs employ TMOS7HV technology

ON Semiconductor has extended its range of simplified power supply design solutions with the release of its new line of high-voltage MOSFETs.

The NTD4N60, NTP6N60 and NTP10N60 feature current ratings of up to 10A and RDS(on) as low as 0.75 ohm at 10V. The devices employ the company's planar TMOS7HV technology, allowing operation in demanding application. According to ON Semi, the very low gate charge reduces driver loss to enable higher efficiency than conventional technologies. The Avalanche energy ratings on the products also offer robust operation in power supply applications.

"This product introduction is just the first step into the high-voltage MOSFET market for ON Semiconductor," said Ramesh Ramchandani, VP and GM of Integrated Products Device Division. "By the end of the year, we will introduce 500V to 800V HVMOS devices boasting best-in-class RDS(on) and switching performance."

The 600V MOSFETs are designed for use in various applications, including switch mode power supplies, PWM motor controls, converters, and bridge circuits. To further assist design engineers with the implementation of power supply designs, the ON Power Designer is also offered.

Suitable for the development of active and standby power supplies for computing, LCD monitors, battery chargers, wall adapters, household appliances and other applications requiring custom power solutions, the software enables successful first-pass design of complete power supplies for systems that support input levels of 85V to 260V.
