The three Astria Content Processor (CP) platforms from Tut Systems Inc. were designed to allow broadcasters to replace their existing analog TV1 transmission systems with IP-based transport solutions.

Offering a carrier-class solution for deploying IP-based digital video transport networks, the new Astria CP 100, 200, and 400 chassis consist of a range of small form factor platforms.

According to the company, the entire product family (consisting of the Astria CP 100, 200, 400, and 1200) offers a wide choice of chassis sizes, redundancy options and failover protection to deliver comprehensive and flexible video processing solutions.

Sharing a common set of interchangeable hardware and software elements to help reduce operating costs, the CP family supports applications ranging from a single channel of MPEG-2 4:2:2 video for broadcast trunking to digital TV headends that consist of 150 channels of real-time MPEG-2 4:2:0 video processing.
