Vishay Schottky diodes measure 1.2-by-0.8mm

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has released a series of Schottky diodes that are housed in the new ultra-small SOD-523 (SC79) package with dimensions of 1.2-by-0.8mm and a height profile of 0.6mm.

With low turn-on voltage, low forward voltage values, low leakage current and fast switching, the BAS40-02V, BAS70-02V, BAS581-02V, and BAT54-02V diodes provide designers a compact solution for general rectification applications in mobile communications and computing systems such as notebooks, PDAs; digital cameras, DVD players, camcorders; and cellular and cordless phones.

The BAS70-02V and BAS581-02V feature a diode capacitance of 2pF with maximum forward voltage ratings of 1,000mV and 370mV and leakage currents of 100nA and 0.5?A, respectively. The BAS40-02V offers a capacitance of 5pF, a forward voltage rating of 1,000mV, and a leakage current of 100nA, while the BAT54-02V features a capacitance of 12pF, forward voltage up to 1,000mV, and a leakage current of 2?A. All four Schottky diodes feature a reverse recovery time of 5ns.

The products are protected by a pn-junction guard-ring against excessive voltage, such as that caused by electrostatic discharges. Each device's plastic, molded package has a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating and is specified for high-temperature soldering of 260°C/10s at its terminals.
