Tektronix Inc., a provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, has announced new design verification tools for next-generation video compression technologies available on the company's MPEG Transport Stream Test System.
The new tools support H.264 and Microsoft Windows Media 9 Series (WMV9), enabling video equipment manufacturers to perform software and hardware verification of designs using these technologies.
"To be successful, designers, and manufacturers must be confident that their H.264 and WMV9 designs will work," said Todd Biddle, VP of Tektronix's video product line. "The AD953A MPEG test system meets this unmet need with the world's only analysis support for these next-generation compression technologies."
The AD953A provides play and record capability as well as both real and deferred time MPEG analysis and multiplexing capability to enable easy creation of new transport streams. Options include carousel analysis and generation for testing interactive TV systems.
According to the company, the AD953A is the first instrument to enable designers to successfully and accurately verify their H.264 and WMV9 designs. The device is compatible with Tektronix's Standalone Transport Stream analysis software (Version 6.7 and above) for deferred time analysis on the user's own PC. |
