Fabless chip company Integration Associates has acquired the testing facility of 3Com's Semiconductor Technology Group.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The facility in Norristown, Pennsylvania, will be known as Integration Valley Forge.
As part of the deal, Integration Associates has secured a long-term contract to test 3Com's Revolution 10/100 MAC/PHY ASICs. The devices are used in network interface cards for laptops and desktops.
Integration also plans to expand its test services to other tier 1 OEMs. "Integration has a long history of testing its own analog and mixed-signal semiconductor chips. This acquisition gives us an impressive ability to test high-speed digital IC's and underscores our commitment to high performance testing," said Jean-Luc Nauleau, CEO at Integration.
