K-Micro offers lead-free options on ASIC packages

Kawasaki Microelectronics (K-Micro) has announced that it is offering environmentally friendly, lead-free options on its entire line of ASIC packages.

"Due to environmental concerns around the world, the need for lead-free products in electronic components and systems is receiving increasing attention within the electronics industry," said EVP and CTO Masakatsu Ogawa. "We are proud to be offering lead-free packages as the world moves toward the elimination of environmentally hazardous materials."

Customers can now choose either lead-free packages or traditional packages for their K-Micro ASICs.
