L&K to launch board-to-board connectors in its Hongzhou facility

Taiwan maker L&K Precision Technology Co. Ltd is set to launch its board-to-board connector line at its factory in Hongzhou, mainland China next quarter. The new board-to-board connectors, featuring a 0.4mm and 0.5mm pitch, are designed for use in mobile phones, says K.C. Yang, spokesperson.

According to Yang, the company invested between $3 million to $4 million in the expansion of its Hongzhou facility. "The factory currently produces card, I/O and battery connectors designed for use in mobile phones. This year, our annual revenue is projected to reach NT$1.5 billion ($45.1 million at NT$33.26:$1).

"Connectors designed for mobile phones will account for over 40 percent of this amount," he notes.

L&K Precision will also spend $100 million to $200 million in building another plant in Taiwan. This new plant will focus on technological advancement and the development of molds for connectors and other consumer electronic components. Groundbreaking ceremony for the facility will take place at the end of the year.
