LSI Logic Corp. has announced that it is now shipping full production volumes of its LSI53C1030T Ultra320 SCSI controller.

Using the Fusion-MPT (Message Passing Technology) architecture, the device is configured as a target mode PCI-X to dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI solution for high performance applications such as cache coherency clusters, bridge controllers and the front-end of RAID subsystems.

The Fusion-MPT-based controller offers binary compatibility of host software with the company's Fiber Channel technology. In addition to two channels of Ultra320 SCSI for maximum bandwidth in both initiator and target mode of 640MBps, the LSI53C1030T features a 133MHz, 64-bit PCI-X.

Astek Corp. has assisted LSI Logic in early prototyping and logic design. "Astek is a valuable resource that helps augment our engineering development process. Their specialty tools allow us to accelerate our product development projects while controlling costs and continuing to improve reliability," said David Steele, director of product planning and management for the LSI Logic Storage Standard products division.

More information on the product can be found at the company's website.
