AboUnion Technology Corp. launched a new secure digital (SD) module line early last month. With this new line, the company's monthly capacity for memory cards has doubled from 200,000 to 400,000 units since last month.

Sales Manager Vincent Chen notes that AboUnion's most popular products are still the 1GB, 512Mb, 256Mb, 128Mb, and 64Mb multimedia memory modules. "Our patented technology (window-type package) uses the thin small-outline package (TSOP) to produce multimedia memory modules. It is very difficult to use TSOP to reach the required thickness of 1.4mm for the modules. However, we have developed very thin PCBs to make multimedia memory modules. This means our PCBs are only 0.2mm thick," Chen explains.

Aside from TSOP, the company also offers module assemblies for Flash memories in COB or WSOP. The company's newest product is 1GB multimedia memory modules.
