Cambridge University's Communication Engineering Lab has recently installed Ubisense Ltd's platform to extend its research on sentient computing systems. The scope of research conducted within the university's lab ranges from analysis of communications media at the physical level to development of new devices and their applications.

In addition to research into techniques for supporting conventional network applications, the lab also has extensive experience with a wide range of wireless networks, as well as with more esoteric network technologies. At the applications level, the lab is particularly well-known for its work on pervasive, sentient and mobile computing systems.

Ubisense is the first commercial sense-driven computing platform using UWB technology.
