CPT expects increase in shipment volume

Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd expects shipment volume to reach 950,000 TFT-LCDs in June this year, following the capacity expansions of its 3G and 4G plants.

Last May, the company's shipments grew only 0.8 percent to 920,000 units. Its consolidated sales, however, were higher compared with the previous month's $339.37 million. President Lin Cheng-hung attributes the company's lean performance to the tight supply of TFT-LCD substrates from Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. CPT orders about 70 percent of its substrates from Asahi.
