LSI Logic Corp. has signed a licensing agreement with UTStarcom for its ZSP400 DSP core. UTStarcom selected LSI Logics ZSP processor technology as the foundation for their next-generation wireless products.
The strategic relationship with LSI Logic enables UTStarcom to extend its market position through rapid deployment of products with innovative features and functions at reduced costs, says John Zhang, chief executive officer of ACD Division at UTStarcom.
As with other ZSP core licensees, UTStarcom will benefit from the ZOpen open architecture software framework. ZOpen provides integration guidelines with supporting utilities, compliant third-party algorithms, and a supporting methodology that simplifies and standardizes application development. |
