California Micro Devices (CMD) Corp. has entered into a wafer supply agreement with Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. This agreement establishes Sanyo as a high volume manufacturing site for CMD's Application Specific Integrated Passive (ASIP) devices and analog semiconductors. This move expands the wafer capacity available for building California Micro's products designed for the mobile, computing and digital consumer markets.

The two companies have worked closely in transferring CMD's proprietary ASIP manufacturing processes to Sanyo. CMD's products will be built at Sanyo facilities in Gunma and Niigata, Japan.

Sanyo SBU General Manager Fumihiro Dasai, stated, "Our CMOS process features embedded flash, analog-mixed signal and high-voltage process technologies. We expect this foundry agreement will expand our business scope while utilizing our technological prowess. We plan to grow our future business with these technologies as our core competence."
