Linear Technology Corp. disclosed that it has released the lowest voltage series reference available.

The LT6650 features a built-in rail-to-rail output buffer amplifier and 1 percent guaranteed accuracy from -40C to 85C. Operating over a 1.4V to 18V supply range, it consumes <6?A with supply levels up to 18V. And using external gain resistors, the output voltage can be adjusted from 400mV up to the positive supply rail using the on-chip rail-to-rail buffer amp. The device can also be configured to operate in either shunt or series mode, and the output buffer is capable of sourcing or sinking up to 200?A.

Engineered for use in portable industrial and medical equipment, as well as low power instrumentation, the product is available in three temperature grades - commercial (0C to 70C), industrial (-40C to 85C) and automotive (-40C to 125C), and is offered in a low profile 1mm 5-lead SOT-23 (ThinSOT) package. Pricing starts at $1.25 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
