Astec POL delivers slim solution

Astec Power's (Emerson Network Power) APA18 is a 75W point-of-load (POL) converter that's suited to restrictive space requirements. The dc-dc converter, in a single-in-line package (SIP, 5.08-by-1.27-by-3.34cm), delivers 18A at 0.75V to 5.5V from a 10V to 14V input for a wide range of tasks ranging from telecom to instrumentation. It sports efficiency as high as 92 percent.

The module has built-in overcurrent and over-temperature protection, with auto-recovery. It is rated for operation over -40°C to 85°C. Mean time between failure (MTBF) is in excess of 1 million hours. The POL meets worldwide standards for safety and performance. Available with vertical or horizontal mounting pins, the APA18 is priced from $24.45 each in OEM quantities, with samples available now.
