SSA Global, a provider of extended enterprise solutions and services, announced it is increasing its position in the product lifecycle management (PLM) market to help its customers maximize value along every point in the product lifecycle, while controlling and reducing costs and maintaining fluid integration across business units.

"Many of SSA Global's 13,000 customers, who are active in the manufacturing industry, can now take advantage of the SSA PLM solution," exclaimed EVP Graeme Cooksley. "The SSA PLM provides customers with robust engineering capabilities, document management for the entire enterprise, and end-to-end business processes automated by workflow."

The Enterprise Content Management shares, manages and consolidates product data from different enterprise departments and extends the information to all organization levels. According to the company, organization members from separate departments can leverage enterprise content and engineering information and incorporate it in their business processes for seamless information flow, improved accuracy and reduced time-consuming searches.

"This allows manufacturers to manage product information and enterprise content between departments and maximize existing investments in assets, resources and knowledge throughout the entire product lifecycle," Cooksley added.

The Enterprise Content Management fully supports a manufacturer's PLM strategy to align inter-department communication with role-driven data access and visualization. The application functions as a product data navigator within an enterprise, working with various systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Data Management (PDM) to manage and share product-related information across departments. It also promises to close the information gap between engineering and other departments by allowing various users controlled access to engineering data, such as product structures, drawings and design files.
