PowerPC processors supplier Applied Micro Circuits Corp.'s Embedded Products Group has joined Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC).

As a member of the EEMBC board, AMCC will have full voting rights on all issues decided by the consortium and access to all application suites of the consortium's benchmark source code. In addition, AMCC will be actively involved in developing the next-generation benchmarks that will become industry standards.

Having recently acquired a portfolio of products associated with IBM's PowerPC 400 series, AMCC claims that it is rapidly leveraging their resources and technology expertise to provide a range of embedded solutions that meet the growing needs of its customers.
