Mykrolis Corp., a supplier of components and subsystems to the semiconductor industry, has acquired the business and assets of Bentec Scientific LLC, a manufacturer of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based components used in semiconductor manufacturing. Mykrolis was previously an exclusive global distributor of Bentec's products, which are currently sold by Mykrolis under the Planarcore brand name.

The Planarcore products are used in post-CMP (chemical mechanical planarization) and substrate cleaning, which are critical parts of the manufacturing process for advanced semiconductors and microelectronics.
