Kyocera Wireless Corp. and Kodiak Networks have signed an alliance agreement to market Kyocera handsets supporting the Kodiak Real-time Exchange (RTX) platform worldwide. Together, Kyocera and Kodiak provide a fully-integrated premium solution to CDMA operators interested in adding advanced voice services, including push-to-talk (PTT), to their existing networks. In addition, the companies have already launched two Kyocera models utilizing the Kodiak platform.

Bruce Lawler, Kodiak Networks VP for business development, said, "Kyocera's reputation for innovative design and feature-rich wireless phones is well deserved. They understand the tremendous market opportunity for purpose-built handsets with high-performance push-to-talk and advanced voice services capabilities."
