Sampo licenses Genesis Microchip's patent

Sampo Technology Corp. has entered into an agreement to license Genesis Microchip Inc.'s U.S. Patent No. 5,739,867 and its foreign counterpart patents on a royalty-bearing basis. Sampo agreed to license the patent to enable the continued importation of its LCD monitors and LCD TV receivers into the U.S. and to continue worldwide sales on a fully-licensed basis.

"This worldwide license agreement enables Sampo to continue selling cost-effective consumer display products containing Genesis' patented upscaling technology in all of the countries where our patent is issued or pending," said Robert Lensch, Genesis Microchip's VP of business development.
