Renesas to establish Vietnam LSI design center

Renesas Technology Corp. will establish a system LSI design center in Vietnam to expand the capacity of its system solution business. The design center, with a tentative name of Renesas Design Viet Nam Co. Ltd, is scheduled to be established next month.

The design center in Vietnam is expected to design major system LSIs such as SH-Mobile and provide the quality-service under the theme of achieving, "Accuracy, Quality and Innovation." The center is anticipated to further expand its business to designing other SoC products and software, and increase its engineers to 200 in 2006 and 1000 in FY2010.

Renesas system solution business is focused in three main markets: mobile technologies, automobiles and PC/audio visual equipment.
