Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) has revealed that it is replacing its existing Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with Camstar Systems Inc.'s InSite application suite for test, assembly and packaging operations at its five manufacturing facilities in Singapore, Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Suzhou, China and Bangkok, Thailand. Moreover, Technology Resources Group (TR-Group), system integrators for the semiconductor automation market and a Camstar partner, will provide professional services for this implementation.

AMD will use InSite/Semiconductor Edition tightly integrated into its patented fab automation capabilities known collectively as Automated Precision Manufacturing (APM). With InSite, AMD will be able to improve real-time visibility within its manufacturing operations, enabling it to react faster and with more flexibility to customer demand and improve the ramp-up of new product production. Additionally, this competitive replacement with Camstar's InSite suite of applications will enable AMD to further optimize the use of production assets while reducing costs and improving quality and efficiency.
