TFT-LCD backlight module makers in Taiwan, such as K-Bridge Electronics Co. Ltd and Radiant Opto-Electronics Corp., have achieved more than half of their projected full-year pre-tax profits.
K-Bridge has hit 60 percent of its full-year forecast, realizing $11.59 million in pre-tax profits in the seven months to July. Radiant achieved $37.57 million in pre-tax profits, which was 70 percent of its full-year forecast. The company expects its profit to increase slightly from its forecast of $55.29 million to $59.17 million this year.
Despite the falling prices of backlight modules in August, both Radiant and K-Bridge estimate stronger results as more shipments are made for the less price-sensitive small-to-medium-size applications. Radiant expects to gain record sales ranging from $38.46 million to $41.42 million, while K-Bridge projects its shipment revenues to grow from 3 percent to 5 percent. |
