ITT Ind., Cannon announced that they have added 37 and 51 way versions to the APD series of circular DIN72585 connectors.

Designed specifically for applications in all types of automotive, transportation and industrial environments, including those subject to high shock and vibration, these new high pin count versions will reduce the number of connectors required, saving costs and space.

Like all members of the APD series, the 37 and 51 way styles feature light weight composite bodies that are cost-effective. Bayonet coupling ensures a tight, vibration resistant connection and the connectors are sealed up to IP69K. The 51 way product is also available with a secondary locking system for added security, and features up to eight mechanical key and visual colour coding options to eliminate mis-mating.

The new connectors are rated for 12A (max.) at 85C (105C for short durations), or for the 51 way device only, 2A at 120C. Insulation resistance is 10 megohms and the connectors are voltage proof to 1,000Vac.

The 37 way device has a lifespan of 20 mating cycles, while the 51 way connector has 40 mating cycles.
