STMicroelectronics will use Wave Systems Corp.'s secure software for its Trusted Computing Group (TCG) 1.2 Solution in trusted PCs. The solution, which is backward compatible with the TCG 1.1b specification, features an integrated Core TCG Software Stack along with Wave's Embassy security center and Cryptographic Services Provider (CSP), as well as all necessary BIOS and Windows drivers.

The ST19WP18-TPM solution, based on STMicro's Trusted Platform Module (TPM), combined with the software stack (BIOS and Windows drivers, Trusted Computing Group Software Stack, and Wave EMBASSY Security Center and TCG Cryptographic Service Provider), delivers an off-the-shelf TCG-enabled security solution for desktop and laptop PCs.

Trusted PCs shipped by the computer industry are embedded with TPM chips specified by TCG industry standards. Wave's client and server solutions work with TPM chips embedded in Trusted PCs. TPMs serve as a platform for secure services and applications. This solution enables strong authentication on any PC that includes a TPM and Wave software.
