TI audio DSP powers Harman's latest a/v receivers

The Aureus audio DSPs and analog components from Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) are being utilized in Harman Kardon's two latest audio/video receivers, the AVR 635 and AVR 435.

The DA610, part of TI's Aureus family of audio DSPs, is a 225MHz floating point DSP that delivers 1,800 million instructions per second (MIPS) and 32-64bit native processing. Using the DA610, OEMs can deliver next-generation digital audio features and can incorporate proprietary audio processing algorithms into their system, claims TI. The DA610 also features an open audio framework that provides manufacturers a flexible design environment to easily add the latest features to differentiate their products. The receivers also utilize several TI analog components including operational amplifiers, interface, power management and logic, the company adds.
