LSI Logic adapters opt for ION storage servers

LSI Logic Corp. has announced that its MegaRAID Ultra320 SCSI adapters, Fiber Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) and Ultra320 SCSI HBAs were selected by ION Computer Systems for use in its family of storage servers. ION Computer Systems builds custom servers and workstations for corporate users, embedded applications and high performance computing.

ION Computer will also use LSI Logic's single-, dual- and quad-channel PCI-X Fiber Channel; single- and dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI HBAs, and dual- and quad-channel MegaRAID PCI-X SCSI adapters for bundling into its SS300 and terastatION storage servers ranging from 0.5TB to 5TB. The SS300 storage server features FalconStor software, which was recently certified interoperable with LSI Logic Fiber Channel HBAs.

"The relationship between LSI Logic and ION Computer further strengthens the attach rate of our MegaRAID and HBA products to storage servers, blade servers and whitebox enclosures," said Charlie Kraus, director of product management and marketing for the LSI Logic storage standard products HBA division.
