Teradyne, Acterna cooperate in broadband deployment

Teradyne and Acterna are working together to provide broadband test solutions for telephone companies. The parties have recently shared technical specifications related to Teradyne's Loop Diagnostic Unit (LDU 100) and Acterna's patented technology in its DSL Test Head (QT-200) and scalable architecture of its Quality Test Management System (QMS Test OS & EMS).

"The goal of this collaboration is to enable our customers to leverage their extensive installed base of test heads by cost effectively migrating to end-to-end broadband service assurance solutions from Teradyne and Acterna," said Bob Copithorne, VP and GM of Teradyne's broadband test division.

Helmut Berg, president of Acterna's telecommunications division, added, "The objective of this cooperation is to provide solutions that enable service providers to beat the competition by quickly delivering the advanced new services of the coveted service 'triple play' more cost-effectively in an intensely competitive market."
