Power relay offers switching capacity up to 40A

CIT Relay & Switch has introduced a new 40A automotive relay that is available in four different contact arrangements with PC-board pin and quick-connect mounting options.

Designated the CTA2F series, the new relay offers a large switching capacity of up to 40A at 14Vdc, and insulation resistance of 100MW (min.) at 500Vdc. The relay's coil to contact dielectric strength is rated at 750Vrms (min.) at sea level, and the contact to contact strength is rated at 500Vrms (min.) at sea level. The series is available in a choice of coil voltages including 6Vdc, 12Vdc or 24Vdc with coil power rated at 1.6W or 1.9W. Customers may contact the company for coil suppression options.

This new relay may be used in a variety of automotive applications including off-road 4-wheel vehicles, go-carts, golf-carts, snowmobiles, tractors, riding mowers, as well as in emergency vehicle flashing lights and similar applications.

Pricing starts at $1.26 in quantities of 1,000, depending on configuration. Delivery is five to 11 weeks.
