STMicro to use GetSilicon MVC platform

STMicroelectronics will deploy GetSilicon's MVC platform to further improve its outsourced back-end semiconductor manufacturing execution. GetSilicon will provide STMicro's back-end subcontractors worldwide with a user interface to manage supply chain reporting requirements.

STMicro aims to improve data accuracy and also reduce administrative costs associated with data quality. The GetSilicon platform will provide a single interface for all of STMicro's back-end manufacturing subcontractors and will replace a variety of communication tools currently in place.

The first phase of the project will enable STMicro to offer, as an option to its back-end subcontractors, a self-service portal to enter WIP and other transactions. STMicro plans to use the GetSilicon system for validation of the back-end subcontractors' data and as a stage-gate before feeding its ERP and planning systems.
